I am Amanda Gill, the owner and founder of Warrior Bird Wellness. I am an ISSA Certifed Personal Trainer and Nutritionist. I have a passion for health and fitness, and have been on a personal journey becoming my best self, inside and out.
I was an athlete growing up, playing three sports in high school (soccer, track, and lacrosse). I went on to receive a scholarship to play Division I lacrosse, where I learned a lot about stength training and conditioning. After graduating, I became a teacher, and for the last 12 years have worked in education.
I always valued exercise greatly, but it looked different as I progressed through different stages of life. As I entered the real world after college, I was in for a rude awakening when it came to balancing work, life, and fitting in the gym. I had no clue on how to incorporate healthy eating habits, and fell into the trap of commercial fad diets or buying off of what food labels looked "healthy". I didn't gain the weight all at once, but I looked at a picture taken of me about 8 years later and realized that I had become overweight. It felt like it snuck up on me, even though when I looked back, I realized I was not making my health a priority. I was in my 20's! But...I felt terrible about myself, I had no confidence, low self-esteem, and I felt trapped in a hole I couldn't get out of.

...Different messages bombarding me everywhere and damn if I wasn't convinced about all of them at some point. But after trying them all, getting into a gym routine (trying allll the different things), and NOT seeing any results, I was frustrated and ready to give up.
That's when I decided to educate myself and stop listening to the influencers on the internet, or whatever the big fad of the month was. With new knowledge about nutrition, different kinds of exercise, and how the body works, I set out on a personal journey. It has been a little over a year since incorporating these changes and habits, and I am in the best shape of my life. (Yes, better than when I was a DI athlete!).
The most important thing I have learned is that it isn't about the scale, it's about how I feel. And when I look good, I feel good. And when I make good choices day after day, I am proud of myself.
I realized very quickly that I wanted to combine the two things I love, education and health. I started Warrior Bird Wellness to help women like me break out of the cycle of unworthiness and frustration that come with living in our bodies. I am committed to helping women change their lives longer than just for 28 days or 3 months. I'm in this for the long haul with you, because I know how rewarding it can be, and I know that you are worth it.

We will work one-on-one with you to come up with a fitness plan that fits your needs and lifestyle. Don't belong to a gym? No problem! Our app has hundreds of at-home options that we can use to create your plan. Do you love yoga? Pilates? Peleton? We encourage finding exercise that you love and will encorporate into your personalized program.
At Warrior Bird Wellness, we pride ourselves on providing comprehensive support to our members. You can expect weekly Zoom check-ins, and a direct phone line to your trainer and nutritionist who you can call or text as you need! Additionally, our community of like-minded individuals is here to support and inspire you throughout your journey. We also offer progress tracking tools, workout plans, and resources to ensure you have everything you need to succeed.
